ACID AND BASE
Activity 2.1
I. Purpose :
Definite characterictic of acid and base.
II. Basic Theory :
Acids and bases are two darting through the class of chemicals is important. In everyday life, we know of many substances that we have classified as an acid, eg acetic acid, citric acid, tamarind, sour starfruit, and "sour stomach". One of the acidic nature is a sour taste. We also know the various substances that we classify as a base, such as whiting, caustic soda, water, soap, and water ash. One of the basic character is to dissolve fat, which is why ash (ash) is used for washing dishes.
Although acids and bases have different tastes, it is not wise to indicate acidity and alkalinity in a way to taste it, because of the many that can damage the skin and toxic. Now there is a practical way to determine the acid and alkaline a substance is by using the acid-base indicator (litmus paper).
III. Materials and Equipments :
· 10 mL vinegar
· 10 mL soap solution
· 10 mL lime solution
· 10 mL sprite
· 10 mL aquades
· Shoes flower extract(10 shoes flower pounded + water, then filter the exstract), colour of extract is purple.
