MEASURMENT
MULTIMETER
Activity 1.1
I.       Purpose                                 :
1.      Knowing how to use a multimeter.
2.     DC current measurement with a multimeter.
II.       Basic Theory                         :
To achieve a particular goal in physics, we usually observed along with the measurement. The measurement is actually a process of benchmarking the value of an unknown quantity with a value of fixed standard. One of them using a multimeter, multimeter is a power gauge that is often known as a vom (volt / ohm meter) that can measure voltage (voltmeter), resistance (ohm-meters), as well as the current (ampere-meter). Basic Function Multimeter
a.  DC ammeters
b. DC voltmeter
c. AC Voltmeter
d. Ohmmeter
Grouping Multimeter
a. Analog
ü  Use visual aids needle moving coil
ü  Basic measurand current
·         Non-electroniK
·         Electronic
b. Digital (electronic)
ü  Use visual aids digital number
ü  Measurand basis of the converted voltage into digital signals
III.       Materials and Equipments      :
·                Multimeter
·                Circuit board
·                Bridge
·                Connecting cable
·                Battery
·                Place the battery
·                Lamp
·                Switch
IV.       Step Work                           :
1.      Set the selector to the position of the DCA.
2.     Select the scale limits based on an estimate of the current measure will be in check, eg.
3.     Note the correct maximum limit of strong currents that can be measured by a multimeter because if it exceeds the limit then the fuse (fuse) on the multimeter and multimeter will break while in use and can not fuse (fuse) should be replaced first.
4.     Installation of the multimeter to measure current probes means we cut off one power supply connection to the load current that will be checked, then make a multimeter as a liaison.
5.     Connect the red multimeter probe on the output voltage () and probe power supply (-) on the input voltage () of the load / circuit that will be checked using the current.
6.     Read the measured on a multimeter.
