CLASSIFICATION OF LIVING THINGS
Experiment 1:
A. Title: identifying microorganisms which belong to the phylum Rhizopoda, flagellates, and Ciliate.
B. Tools and materials:
1. Paper
2. Pen
3. Pencil
4. Microscope
5. Hay dry empty bottles
6. Object glass (glass objects)
7. Glass cover
8. Pipette
9. Blotting paper
10. Cotton
11. Wet Water
C. Working Procedure:
1. Students are divided into several groups. One group of students numbered 5-6 people.
2. Each group will prepare the necessary tools and materials. Especially for water rice fields, each group taking rice field water in the region or elsewhere.
3. Cut hay along the ± 2 cm, and insert it into the hay bottle until the fourth section.
4. Enter the water from rice fields up to 3 / 4 of the bottle, then the bottle is left open, save it in a place that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Store for 5-7 days.
5. After 5-7 days, is expected to multiply Protozoa. Take a drop of water from the bottle to use traditional pipette. Taking the first from the surface of the bottle, the bottle-making further from the middle and bottom of the bottle.
6. Put one drop of water into glass objects (glass objects), then cover with the glass cover. If the water that dripped too much, suck using suction paper.
7. Observe under a microscope. If you have not managed to repeat steps 3 and 4 or ask for water culture of other groups that have been successful
8. Observe the types of Protozoa and match with existing image.
9. If protozoa are moving fast so it is difficult to observe, then make in the following manner. After a glass of water drops with a drop of culture, save the five strands of cotton fibers in water droplets., then cover with a glass lid. Protozoa will be trapped by the lint cotton.
